Privacy policy
MoneyMatters · Last updated: 28 October 2026. The app is in development and this policy may change before release.
MoneyMatters only keeps what you log so it can show you your finances. There are no ads, we don't connect to your bank and we don't sell or share your data.
Data controller
Relative Developers, a project by Alexei Barberà Roca. Contact: relativedevelopers@gmail.com.
What data we keep
- Your email and password, handled by Firebase Authentication. We never see your password.
- Your date of birth, country, main currency and the modules you have turned on.
- What you log: accounts, transactions, recurring items, budgets, categories, investments and goals.
- In shared accounts, the other members of the space see its transactions and who added each one.
- We don't access your bank accounts: you enter every amount yourself.
What we use it for
To make the app work (syncing your data across devices and with the members of your shared accounts, and sending you reminders) and to improve it using aggregated data. There are no ads, we don't sell your data and we don't share it with third parties.
Analytics and crash reports
Only if you give your consent, MoneyMatters uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics, which collect technical, usage and error data: device, language, approximate country, installation ID and screens visited. They never include your amounts.
Economic data
Inflation, exchange rates and the other economic data come from public sources (World Bank, IMF, Eurostat and European Central Bank). The app downloads them from our server: your data is never sent to those sources.
Where it is stored
In Firebase, acting as data processor, in the European Union (eur3). Only the members of each space can access its data. A copy is kept on your phone so you can use the app offline.
Legal basis
Performance of the service you request when you create your account and, for analytics and crash reports, your consent, which you can withdraw in Settings.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. When you delete it, your data is erased within 30 days at most.
Your rights
You can request access to, rectification, erasure and portability of your data, or object to its processing, by writing to relativedevelopers@gmail.com. You can also export your data from the app (CSV or JSON). And you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
Children
MoneyMatters is not intended for children under 14.
